		<description>So very relevant and spot on.  I especially resonate with attempts to preserve and losing more quickly.  Its living life backwards, against the way we were intended to live.  In working with conflicted couples I have noticed self-preservation fights to keep the focus on the other party so the preserver might stay in the dark.  And living in the dark is captivity, not freedom.  Shame and fear are close friends with self-preservation.  Finally, the insidious false humility and martyrdom that can go with self-preservation is poison for relationships.  Working very hard to personify an impostor identity is wearisome.  Jeremie, thanks for the post.....I&#039;ve shared it with many</description>

		<description>Great article! I&#039;m not usually into sports analogies, but this reminds me of the prevent defense in football. My husband always says that the prevent defense is the best way to lose a game. This is when your focus is playing to not lose your lead, instead of going all in and playing to win.</description>
