The Goal of Relationship: Friendship

I love and appreciate my friends. Perhaps it was me being an only child that caused me to endear friends the way I do. It may also be that I have experienced deep friendships and lots of grace within these relationships. As I continue to teach about relationship before transaction I am reminded that the goal of these relationships is really friendship – the ability to be real with people. I have been thinking about this for some time when I came upon this quote.

“Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away.” George Eliot

Then I realized this truth: If I want the above I need to live the above for others.

May we each reach a point where we can feel the comfort in this text and a friend or friends to which we can walk through life and business with a depth and a peace and a comfort that is worth more than gold.

    Hi Jeremie,

Thank you for sharing the insight God gave you on Leadership. Are you planning a trip to Calgary Alberta any time soon? We would love to resurrect Leadership in Canada too.

    Keep up the good work
