If you want to increase your influence and amplify your leadership then this post is for you.

Before I dive in, let me give you some quick back story…

In early May 2011 I released my first published book Leadership is Dead: How Influence is Reviving It (via Howard Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster). The book was met with great response and went on to become a Wall Street Journal Bestseller, which I am extremely grateful for.

Fast forward more than a year later and we are now releasing a paperback version of my book but under a new name with slightly modified content.

Making Your Leadership Come AliveThis week marks the official release.

Making Your Leadership Come Alive: 7 Actions to Increase Your Influence

Here’s a brief description of the book:

Anyone can make an impact. You only need influence; it is the most potent professional asset on the planet. The problem is that influence is also the most underused asset on the planet. And the primary reason is that the enemy of influence is a universal human trait: self-preservation. If leaders are too concerned with protecting their status and reputation, they limit their opportunity to forge open and honest ties with others. Making Your Leadership Come Alive shows how leaders who are genuine—who give themselves away—have the greatest influence and are the most successful in their work.

With confidence and trust in company leadership at an all-time low, Jeremie Kubicek’s ideas show readers how to restore faith through the importance of relationships—and how to avoid the self-defeating and selfish approach commonly used by the leaders of today. Making Your Leadership Come Alive is a veritable roadmap to future success.

This isn’t just your ordinary leadership book with lofty ideas and generalities.

In it I share my perspective on leadership, having lead large teams and businesses for many years, but I also give practical actions and tools that every leader can utilize to make their leadership come alive.

The book contains 10 short but impactful chapters of content, a special “Influence Model” that you can utilize individually or with your teams, insightful interviews, 7 actions that every leader can take, apply and benefit from.

Here’s a list of the 7 actions to increase your influence, which are expanded upon more within the actual book…

Action 1: Give Trust to Become Trustworthy
Action 2: Become Credible, Not Just Smart
Action 3: Be Intentional In Your Influence
Action 4: Break Through Your Walls of Self-Preservation
Action 5: Pursue Relationships Before Opportunity
Action 6: Give Yourself Away

Over the last year I was humbled by how many readers and leaders contacted me with testimonial after testimonial of how much the book impacted them. I don’t say that to brag but to illustrate a point. In full transparency, I obviously hoped the book would benefit others but I didn’t anticipate that it would quite like it did. “Breaking Through the Walls of Self-Preservation” and “Pursue Relationships Before Opportunity” were two of the most commented on sections that appear to have brought great breakthroughs to others, and I hope will do the same for you.

To end this post,

I have three actions I’d like to ask you to take…

1. Consider purchasing a copy or copies of Making Your Leadership Come Alive for yourself, your team or someone you know. Simply visit your local bookstore or you can order online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, 800CEORead, etc.

2. Help spread the word. Would you tell someone you know about the book and encourage them to read it? You can share this post on Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, etc.

3. Make the choice to be an intentional, influential leader who puts people first. Of course, I’d love for Making Leadership Come Alive to get into the hands of every current and next generation leader however what motivates me most is seeing the heart of leaders be for those they lead. So even if you don’t do 1 or 2 above, at least make the decision today to be an influential leader and choose to make a positive difference in the lives of those you lead.
