When a plant grows it grows towards the light.
The same is true with people.
People grow towards that which fills them up, gives them hope and nourishes them.
While God is the ultimate source of light for many of us, we’re also nourished by the light of others… authors, mentors, friends, family members, etc. Their encouragement and support brightens our day.
Darkness, on the other hand, causes death to plants over time.
The same is also true with people.
No light causes us to wither away.
The practical application for us to think about, as leaders, is two-fold:
1. Who are you shining your light towards today?
2. Who is shining their light on you?
It’s simple but true… light brings life and light brings growth.
Be intentional today and shine a light on those around you but also make sure that you are surrounded by others who shine their light back on you.
